Home-Start Kirklees

Home-Start Kirklees are a volunteer led organisation committed to promoting the welfare of children. For the last 25 years, we have been offering practical and emotional support to families in Kirklees with at least 1 child aged under 5. Our home support volunteers work with families facing everyday life challenges in a wide range of areas. We recognise the challenge of trying to raise children in a safe and nurturing environment whilst dealing with stresses such as ill health, financial difficulties, disrupted relationships, insecure housing, isolation, trauma abuse and loss. Home-Start Kirklees is a unique local service, intervening early with vulnerable families helping them organise their lives and make better-informed decisions about the health and well-being of the whole family.
