A proud family-run business Houghton & Son is an established family business which is based in Chelmsford in Essex and has been in operation since the early 1970s. The company was founded by Mr. J Houghton who was a fully qualified electrical engineer. He formed Houghton Electrical and was succeeded by his son; Ian Houghton who has carried on the family tradition in electrical engineering. The company was rebranded in 1992 as Houghton & Son Ltd. Ian has expanded the company over the years to its current successful position. Today, the company continues to grow and is making a name as a go-to main contractor for contracts and projects within Public Sector, Educational Sector and many Private Sector clients.
