Houston Geological Society

The Houston Geological Society, or HGS, is a society for geoscience professionals, educators, students, and earth science enthusiasts of the Houston metropolitan area. Members of HGS include a cross-section of many disciplines of geology, geophysics, and engineering, with members of all ages and all levels of experience. Various committees of the HGS provide focused content for members, such as North American Explorationists, International Explorationists, and Environmental & Engineering Geology. Young professionals can connect with the NeoGeos. There is even a geographically designated group, the Northsiders, to accommodate members in our spread out community. The HGS offers a full calendars worth of technical lunch and dinner meetings covering a variety of timely and relevant topics, as well as field trips, continuing education courses, and publications.
