HUT Architecture

HUT make places to live, work and play that are sustainable not just in terms of their embodied and operational energy, but also in their broader social context. 4 key ideas are embedded in all HUT projects; Re-use, Delight, Patina and Enrichment All of our projects are transformative in their programme, and are approached with an open mind to create the most appropriate response to the brief. Many involve a response to existing buildings, are in some way mixed use, retrofit, and located within the urban grain. We work towards low carbon and embrace the circular economy, reducing waste through the inventive upcycling of sites, building uses, and materials. Ours is a diverse, design-centric and democratic studio environment. We support local schools, lecture at Universities, and engage in place-making within our broader community.
