The Institute for African Women in Law is a non-profit organization registered under US law. It is made up of a network of women legal professionals across Africa and the Diaspora dedicated to using the law as a tool for societal change and development. Our focal programmatic areas include Research, Advocacy, Technical Engagement, and Mentoring. We seek to improve and increase spaces within the legal professions for African women. Our innovative approach uses a cross-sectional approach by removing the silos of professional organizations and blending professional boundaries.
