IKM - Institut Kemahiran MARA

Institut Kemahiran MARA (IKM) is under MAJLIS AMANAH RAKYAT - MARA. IKM was created with the aim of producing Bumiputera youth who are skilled in various technical and technical fields to qualify them to serve in the trade, enterprise and industrial sectors as well as create potential entrepreneurs.The training exercise is conducted by providing various courses in a numbersof fields which conducted at IKM throughout the country. The first SMEs were established in 1968, namely Melaka IKM which was then stationed at Jalan Hang Tuah, Melaka. Initially IKM was created with a social oriented objective of addressing the problem of dropout in the education sector among youths and Bumiputera youths especially in rural areas.
