Independent Choices

Background - Independent Choices was founded in 1978 as the Womens Domestic Violence Helpline. Our services developed in the mid 1990s into a multi-project organisation. Our Vision -All women and their dependents are made aware of their rights and offered choices so that they can live without the fear of domestic abuse. A key focus of the work of the organisation includes the services of the Womens domestic abuse Helpline including Community Language Helpline Services. Independent Choices works at a strategic level across Greater Manchester attending on average one strategic or service planning meeting on domestic abuse each week. We are a main co-coordinating agency of the End the fear campaign partnership and we run events, media releases and conferences on key domestic abuse issues annually.
