Om fraude in de zorg op te sporen, te onderzoeken en waar nodig te bestraffen, werken zeven toezichthouders en opsporingsdiensten samen in het Informatie Knooppunt Zorgfraude. Dit zijn: de Inspectie Gezondheidszorg, de Inspectie SZW, de NZa, de Belastingdienst, FIOD, het Centrum Indicatiestelling Zorg, het Openbaar Ministerie, de Vereniging van Nederlandse Gemeenten en Zorgverzekeraars Nederland. Door alle kennis en ervaring in een knooppunt met elkaar te verbinden, kan fraude beter worden aangepakt en kunnen de deelnemers effectiever optreden als er een signaal over misbruik van zorggeld is
