Informetis is a smart energy start-up which was created as a spin-out from what was previously Sony Corporations R&D Energy Division. Informetis is based in Japan and its vision is to enable consumers to minimise their energy bills through the use of simple, intuitive and cost effective technology solutions. The first solution from Informetis is a cloud based service which through the use of a single clamp provides consumers with an itemised view of their electricity bill, much in the same way as an itemised bill from your mobile phone provider. A unique advantage of the Informetis solution for energy Suppliers is that it can also be incorporated as part of the firmware of a Smart Meter thereby removing the need for providing any additional hardware as well as any related installation costs. This solution is currently being trialed in Japan with selected energy suppliers and we hope to roll this out to Europe during 2015
