Institut dAssistencia Sanitaria

The Institut dAssistencia Sanitaria is a public part of the comprehensive public health system (SISCAT) of the Generalitat of Catalonia, through consultation with the Department of Health and Department of Social Welfare and Family. The IAS has a workforce of over 1,500 employees and manages an annual budget of 100 million euros. The task of professionals focuses on people and their health care is provided integrally with continuity and coordination between different levels of care in the territory: primary, hospital, mental health, social health and social development. The IAS has an agreement of collaboration with universities, schools and research institutions in Catalonia and is accredited as a teaching unit for the training of resident physicians (MIR psychiatry) resident psychologists (PIR) , psychiatric nurses, midwives and family doctors in hospital rotation.
