The Institute of the Americas is an independent, inter-American organization that for over 40 years has promoted cooperation between the public and private sectors to improve economic, political and social well-being across the Americas. Founded in 1983 as an impartial, non-profit organization the Institute has focused its efforts in five program areas: energy & sustainability, environment & climate change, economic competitiveness, community & border relations.
