Intercontinental Truck Body was formally established in 1974. The companys first Canadian plant is located in Coaldale, Alberta. This location was servicing all of Canada and the United States from a single locale. With rapidly growing industrial development it was critical to add manufacturing facilities closer to key markets. In the early 1980s, ITB expanded operations to a sales office in Calgary and a manufacturing plant in Surrey, British Columbia to cover the greater Vancouver market.
