International Order of the Golden Rule

The International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR) is a not-for-profit membership organization of independent, family-owned funeral homes located throughout North America and overseas. Headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, OGR is a 501(c)(6) organization. Founded in 1928, OGRs mission is to make independent funeral homes exceptional. We do this by building and supporting member interaction, information exchange and professional business development through a wide range of programs, services and resources. Our Standards of Ethical Conduct guide our members business practices and philosophy, allowing them to provide unsurpassed care to families by the Golden Rule. Golden Rule funeral homes are held to the highest service standard. Fewer than 5% of independently owned funeral homes can call themselves Golden Rule funeral homes, pledging their efforts to the pursuit of the standard of the Golden Rule in all of their personal and professional relationships.
