Our Mission The mission of the INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF LOUISIANA is to provide a challenging education emphasizing French or Spanish language immersion, international awareness, the celebration of diversity and community responsibility. Named 2007 Charter School of the Year by the Washington, D.C.-based Center for Education Reform, THE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF LOUISIANA (ISL) was founded in 2000 as a tuition-free, public school open to any child in the State of Louisiana. The only public school of its kind in the United States, ISL embraces the unique culture, ethnic diversity and historical significance of New Orleans. By respecting their past, ISL prepares its students for the diverse and challenging marketplace of the 21st century.
