Founded by Patrick Gong, a native of Huadu who immigrated to California in the 1980s, the association is to help International Students to connect together home and abroad! ABOUT HUADU: Huadu District is a district of Guangzhou, Peoples Republic of China. It is located in the far northern suburbs of the city. Xinhua Town is the seat of local government, and of the district CCP committee.[1] The district was established as a county Hua County (Chinese: ; pinyin: Huaxian; also known as Fahsien) in the Qing Dynasty (16441911). It remained a county until 1993 when it was recognized as a city and renamed as Huadu (Chinese: ; pinyin: Huadu); in 2000, it became an attached suburban district of Guangzhou. Natives speak a dialect of Yue Chinese called Huaxian (Fahsien; Chinese: ).
