Rob Sand is the 33rd State Auditor of Iowa. The Office of the Auditor of State serves the citizens of Iowa as the taxpayers watchdog. We provide accurate and timely audits of financial operations of Iowas state and local governments to help ensure that government is open and accountable to its citizens. The Auditor of States office is comprised of roughly 100 public servants living in different parts of Iowa, working to ensure taxpayer funds are not wasted, defrauded, abused, or misspent. Responsibilities: The Auditor of State is a constitutional official, elected every four years. The Auditor is required to annually make a complete audit of the books, records and accounts of every department of state government. The States Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and Single Audit Report are audited by the Auditor of State.
