Jana Urban Foundation (Jana Foundation or JUF), previously known as Janalakshmi Social Services (JSS), is a section (25) not-for-profit company registered in June 2006. JUF is an urban inclusion think tank based in Bangalore with a vision to transform urban India where financial inclusion and enhanced quality of life are assured to all those who aspire to help themselves. Jana Foundation constantly strives to understand the world of urban excluded household and incubates viable and scalable social business models that are central to inclusion. JUF has promoted Janalakshmi Financial Services Private Limited (JFS), an NBFC-MFI focused on financial inclusion, and Janaadhar India Pvt. Ltd. that builds low cost and high quality housing offered at price points that are sustainable and affordable.
