Welcome to The Jewish Community Project of Lower Manhattan (often known as JCP Downtown)! We are a vibrant center for Jewish life in Lower Manhattan. As a community, we build deep connections, explore Jewish identity, and do good downtown. Jewish centers have been integral to sustaining Jewish life for more than two thousand years, and JCPs story is no exception. Our organization emerged as a response to the return of Jewish life downtown after September 11, 2001. Since our official founding in 2002, we welcome all who seek a pluralistic experience rooted in the Jewish values of learning, connection, culture, and spirituality, and we engage people of all religious orientations and identities.
