JhaJi Store sells traditional homemade pickles made by women using authentic recipes from Mithilanchal in Bihar. Kalpana and Uma Jha started this business to take Mithilas authentic taste to people who have once lived in the region but have since moved out for work or education. Over the last 30 years, both of them have been shipping pickles to friends and family everywhere from New Delhi to New York. In 6 short months, the business has sold pickles worth more than Rs. 35L to 5000+ customers all over the country, and has received ~400 5-star reviews. The pickles are made using local, all-natural ingredients and spices sourced from small-scale farmers and traders in Samastipur and Muzaffarpur.
