JHARKHAND STATE BAR COUNCIL

Jharkhand State Bar Council is the apex body of the lawyers which functions for the entire state of Jharkhand. The Council is an Autonomous Body established under the provisions of the Advocates Act, 1961 which created two autonomous organisations to regulate and manage the collective professional affairs of the Advocates- one at the centre namely the Bar Council of India, and one at each state or a group of states namely the Bar Council of the respective state/s. The objectives and functions of the State Bar Council are to confer license to practice as advocates to the law graduates who apply for the same i.e. to grant them permission to practice before the courts of law, to work for their welfare, to manage their collective professional matters and to consider cases of professional and other misconduct on complaints or otherwise.
