Joint Institute for VLBI ERIC

JIVEthe Joint Institute for VLBI ERICis the core organisation of the European VLBI Network (EVN). It operates the central EVN data processor and provides assistance to astronomers before, during and after their observations of a radio source with the EVN. Its primary objective is to encourage and use Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) and other radio astronomical techniques. VLBI combines signals from multiple radio telescopes located across the Earth turning them into a single giant observatory to study the radio sky at the highest possible resolution. JIVE conducts a diverse range of Research and Development activities within VLBI-related domains, including radio astronomy data processing, and plays a key role in advancing innovative applications of VLBI and radio astronomy technologies.
