Haiti is a country with a rich culture yet many heart wrenching issues preventing it from breaking a deeply embedded cycle of poverty. With a literacy rate less than 53%, largely due to a failed public education system, many Haitians struggle to find a pathway to improve their livelihood, even slightly. Our mission is to deliver whole life improvement to the community of Bon Repos. Via access to quality education for all ages, Jou Nouvo provides opportunities to build stability and self reliance to bolster hope, plant seeds for economic empowerment, and create a sense of new certainty. We provide sponsorships for children to attend school, a girls scholars program, university scholarships, adult literacy courses, business micro-loans and other community building programs. In spring 2022, Jou Nouvos brand new Community Center opened in Bon-Repos.
