Kaktos Publications was established in 1975 by Odysseas Chatzopoulos. During the period 1975-1991, Kaktos released over 2,800 books which positioned the brand as the obvious market leader. The editions of this period belong to the large series of science fiction that made known to the Greek public the work of leading authors of the genre, such as Arthur Clark, Isaac Asimov and many others. Believing in the necessity of releasing current-issue books, Kaktos innovated by publishing numerous journalistic documentaries, in collaboration with several well-known journalists, scientists and public figures. These books and the themes they raised caused a sensation in their day and had a great resonance with the readership. At the same time, works by prominent Greek (G. Skaribas, P.
