Al-Jubail Petrochemical Company (Kemya) - A SABIC and ExxonMobil Joint Venture Kemya is located in Jubail, in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. It is a 50/50 joint venture between SABIC and ExxonMobil, established in 1980. With initial production commencing in 1984, Kemya was one of Saudi Arabias initial polyethylene producers. Today, the site has the capacity to produce approximately 960,000 tons per year of ethylene and propylene, as well as over 1.3 million tons per year of low-density and linear low-density polyethylene. It also produces elastomer products, serving the domestic, regional, and global markets. The facility employs commercially competitive, high-impact technologies, including proprietary ExxonMobil EPDM, thermoplastic elastomer, and halobutyl rubber technologies.
