Kenya Water for Health Organization

Kenya Water for Health Organization (KWAHO) is a national non-governmental organization founded in 1976 to implement Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Promotion (WASH). KWAHO is widely recognized as the first indigenous, Kenyan NGO at the community level specifically dealing with WASH. KWAHOs major goal is to improve the health of the marginalized communities, through increased access to safe water, improved sanitation, hygiene promotion, capacity building of community structures in general management of the WASH facilities for sustainable development. Additionally, KWAHO acknowledges and incorporates the human rights-based approach (HRBA) programming in the overall implementation of her programs.
