KLE Society

Seven visionary teachers , the Saptarshis established the KLE Society and set up an Anglo-Vernacular School at Fort, Belagavi in November 1916. The Society established its first collegiate institution, Lingraj College, Belagavi 1933, the B.V.Bhoomaraddi College of Engineering at Hubbali in 1947 and the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College at Belagavi in 1963. By 1983 KLE had in its fold 38 institutions across Karnataka & Maharashtra. Since 1983 under the Chairmanship of Dr. Prabhakar Kore, KLE has acquired global reputation and evolved to comprise 250+ institutions with over 1,25,000 students and 16,000 employees. KLE Society provides educational services ranging from pre-school to post-doctoral courses across various disciplines. KLE University for Health Sciences established in 2006 is placed in category A by MHRD, accredited at A level by NAAC & bestowed with A grade by UGC.
