Kolony Tea

Kolony Tea Estate was acquired by the Sheoparshad group of Dehra Dun in 1958, from The Anglo-American Direct Tea Trading Co. Ltd., which was a subsidiary of the James Finlay Group. The Sheoparshad group has had a substantial interest in tea since 1932, owning several plantations in Assam and Dooars. Situated on the Northern Banks of the Brahmaputra River, in Assam, India, Kolony Tea Estate produces approximately 1.2 million Kgs of fine quality CTC and Orthodox teas. The Estate is located within the 26 48 25 degree North latitude and 92 42 45 degree East longitudes with an elevation of 92.45 meters above sea level and covers an area of 415.00 hectares under cultivation. The production yield is approximately 2700 Kgs / hectare, which is much higher than the national industry average.
