Supply of municipal waste and rainwater to residents and industry (supply of heat, district cooling, drinking water, discharge and treatment of urban waste and rainwater and disposal of non-hazardous and inert waste, funeral burial activities and expanding accessibility to municipal goods and services by networking in the Municipality of Velenje, municipality Sostanj and Municipality Smartno ob Paki and parts of neighbouring municipalities. The energy infrastructure of the heat distribution system is owned by Velenje Municipality and Sostanj Municipality and is contractually managed by the Komunalno podjetje Velenje, d. o. o. (Public utility company of Velenje). The district heating system (DHS) of the Saleska Valley is supplied from Sostanj Power Plant (TES), with lignite from Premogovnik Velenje (PV) used as TESs energy source.
