KPMI (Indonesian Muslim Entrepreneur Community) was formed in 2010 in Bogor, after previously creating the website www.pengusahamuslim.com (2005) and mailing list pengusahamuslim@yahoogroups.com (2008), as a channel for Muslim entrepreneurs to strengthen Islamic Aqidah and Islamic Sharia on Muammalah (Fiqh Muammalah). KPMI was formed by Assatidz and Muslim entrepeneurs who had the strong desire to disseminate knowledge about how Muslim entrepreneurs run and manage their businesses according to the examples given by Rasullullah and Sahabah , and the golden generation of Islam, on how to succeed in Dunya and Akhirah. Currently, KPMI members are spread across 42 regionals coordinators in regencies/city throughout Indonesia and three overseas regional coordinators. Over 48,000 are registered as KPMI members, and are either entrepreneurs or prospective entrepreneurs.
