Kopitarna Sevnica d.d

By the end of the 19th century, a German family Winkle got the idea to expand their business activities to include the area of town Sevnica in Slovenia. So in the year 1886 a company has been established in Sevnica for manufacturing shoe lasts. Nearness of rich surrounding forests contributed to this decision. The old mill was rebuilt into a factory building, setting up of machines and of other devices were soon made, so that first pair of lasts was made on October 11, 1886. First they set up the steam-boiler in 1892, where they steamed semi-products. The building contractor Smrekar has been constantly builing in Kopitarna, so that the factory turned into the largest shoe last company in its branch. With decree concerning foundation of the company (LRS) on October 31st in 1946 the factory got the name KOPITARNA SEVNICA. The name of the company is still the same today.
