Textile Industry Kosovatex was found in 1952. At the beginning this Enterprise employed about 228 people and reached the productive capacity 2,068t of cotton yarn per year. The activity of Kosovatex in the industry is cotton yarn production. After over than 30 years of successful work and as a result of machinery construction, Kosovatex increased the number of workers from 228 to 1700, also the productive capacity increased in 8,500t per year. At the very beginning this Enterprise operated with only 20,000 spindles, installed for co-ordinate yarn. For the time being the Enterprise has 44,000 spindles for co-ordinate yarn and about 900 turbines for OE spinners also about 54 weaving looms for ensuring a qualitative weave production, Keper, Atlas.
