Krajicek Foundation

The Krajicek Foundation motivates Dutch youth in deprived urban areas to exercise regularly, and to develop a healthy lifestyle. Children who frequently play and sport are happier, healthier and learn to develop their talents. We all have been young. Played outside. And remember the fun: making new friends, being active, and discovering new things. It might seem ordinary, but for more than 220,000 children in the Netherlands its all but ordinary. On Krajicek Playgrounds (multisport courts) children from deprived urban areas have a socially safe place, close to home, where they can play and sport carefree. They are being guided by youngsters from their own neighbourhood, our Krajicek Scholars. These are young adults who in exchange for a scholarship organise activities on their Playground.
