L1 is a regional public media organization in Limburg, one of the 12 provinces in the Netherlands, serving its 1,1 million inhabitants. As a public station, L1 receives most of its budget from the provincial government. The broadcasting license is held by the Stichting Omroep Limburg, a foundation which defines program policy for the station. L1 translates these policies into programs for radio, TV, teletext, internet and new media.
