Lake Erie Construction Company developed from a very humble beginning, over 80 years ago, when Paul Bleile began operating a tree service out of his garage. His equipment consisted of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle with an attached toolbox fashioned out of its sidecar. His only employee rode on the toolbox. He worked that way for two years, doing business in a 50 mile radius with gross sales of $3,000 to $5,000 per year. To survive the depression, Paul decided the business had to diversify so he moved into landscape contracting. What was only once one mans dream has turned into one of Norwalk, Ohios largest employers, the Lake Erie Construction Company, formerly the Paul E. Bleile Co.
