In 2009 the city of Vancouver, BC adopted new laneway housing guidelines as part of its EcoDensity initiative. In May 2010, Lanefab completed the citys first laneway house - a 710sf energy efficient home built with prefab Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) and triple glazed windows
