After years of working in the watchmaking sector, Georg Bartkowiak and Gerd-Rudiger Lang (GRL) created LANG 1943 in 2022 to bring mechanical timepieces with a rare pedigree to watch enthusiasts around the world. GRLs relentless contribution to the watch industry is the inspiration in everything we craft as seen in all our timepieces including the open crystal case back. Our timepieces are powered by the hand-wound L43.1 caliber which is the remastered original 1960s Marvin 700 ebauche, forming the mechanical heart of our timepieces, originated in an era gone by. LANG 1943 is a Swiss-made independent brand that emerged as a tribute to Gerd-Rudiger Langs impactful contribution to the watch industry.
