The Laser Aided Material Deposition Process consists of two major subsystems: a laser deposition system (Rofin Sinar 025) and a CNC mill (Fadal VMC-3016L). These two subsystems share a common xy translator and a rotary-tilting table; however, there have independent z-axis movements. The laser deposition system and CNC mill work in shifts in a 5-axis mode. The laser deposition system consists of a laser and a powder delivery system.
