LAWANG was established in 2019 and is a social enterprise that focuses on the promotion and production of Afghan handicraft and fashion designing. LAWANG is the only official member of NEST Guild from Afghanistan with over 2,000 registered artisans from around the globe. The motivation factor behind the creation of LAWANG was the long-term history of Afghan women artisans unemployment in the country; therefore, the founding team was committed to improve women and men artisans employment, reduce gender gaps within the clothing industry, empower women economically and psychologically, and promote Afghan clothing culture and handicrafts around the globe. The company aspires that Afghan traditions of clothing and fashion are alive and this rich culture reaches to the rest of the world.
