The Lebanese Muslim Association (LMA) was established in 1962 by a group of Lebanese immigrants, along with the construction of Imam Ali bin Abi Taleb Mosque of Lakemba, completed in 1977. The organisation has been in operation for over 50 years, servicing the local established and newly migrant community by providing social, religious, educational and recreational services. The LMA currently runs dedicated programs supporting refugees and new migrants to Australia, programs to develop youth, build capacity within the community and promote social cohesion.
