Lei Garden was founded in 1973 in Hong Kong by Guangdong native Chan Shu Kit, the son of a Kuomintang general. Since then, it has grown into one of the largest Cantonese restaurant groups in Asia, with 25 restaurants across Hong Kong, mainland China, Singapore and Macau, employing more than 2,000 people.
