Leicestershire Leicester & Rutland Headway

Leicestershire Leicester and Rutland Headway is a small voluntary organisation with almost 30 years of experience providing specialist support and services to adults with acquired brain injury (including stroke), their families and carers. Headway Leicester is the only provision of its kind locally and the only charity supporting individuals with brain injuries. Brain injury can affect anyone at any time of their lives and is often the result of a sudden catastrophic incident; for example, road traffic collision, stroke, assault and Cardiac Arrest. Who do we support? Individuals under the age of 18 living in our area who have sustained and acquired or traumatic brain injury. Acquired brain injury (ABI): Not present at birth, causes of an ABI can include a Stroke, Aneurysm, Tumour, Infection, Hemorrhage or AV Malformation.
