Suicide is the leading cause of death for Australians aged 15 44 with around 21,000 Australians affected by the death of someone to suicide every year. Lifeline is a national charity providing all Australians experiencing a personal crisis with access to 24 hour crisis support and suicide prevention services. The service is non-denominational and Volunteer Telephone Crisis Supporters come from a wide range of backgrounds.
