Lifting Our Voices

LOV focuses on empowering the voices of our community through need-based service projects. Aiming to combat hunger and voter suppression by the collection and archiving of oral history for the establishment and preservation of a more beloved community. During this pandemic, we saw a need to spread love in our community and provide relief for COVID-19. We decided that continuing our annual AUC Sandwich Run event was paramount to fighting hunger in my community. Over a 15 week span, weve passed out 10,300 bagged lunches to the homeless population in Miami, Los Angeles, Chattanooga, Chicago, and Atlanta impoverished communities. During that time, in consideration of recent events, a large number of our bag donations to the protesting efforts in Downtown Atlanta. Additionally, for the month of August, we began a clothing/toiletries drive that collected over 2,000 items to give to people in need.
