Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL)

Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL) has been founded in 1993. It was the first professional sports organisation in Lithuania. At the moment LKL is made up of 10 teams and is a member of the Lithuanian Basketball Federation. Over the years LKL has established itself as one of the top 10 basketball leagues in the world. Some of the most notable players that have played in the LKL include: Arvydas Sabonis, Jonas Valanciunas, Mindaugas Kuzminskas, Donatas Motiejunas, Sarunas Jasikevicius, Arvydas Macijauskas, who later on moved to play in the Euroleague and the NBA. In 2016 LKL started one of its projects called LKL Academy, which offers a unique opportunity to gain experience working in the sports industry. Interns or so-called students of the academy are involved with LKL projects in marketing, communication and event organisation.
