Los Angles Theatre Center

The Los Angeles Theatre Center is a facility of the City of Los Angeles and operated by the Latino Theater Company. In January 2006, the Latino Theater Company was awarded a 20-year lease for the Los Angeles Theatre Center from the City of Los Angeles and received a $4 million grant from the California Cultural and Historic Endowment to refurbish the building. In October 2007, the building was re-opened as the new Los Angeles Theatre Center. In 2008, the first full season was produced with multi- disciplinary programming that reflects the population of Los Angeles. The Latino Theater Company is also committed to creating comprehensive educational programs, including the Summer Conservatory. This program was developed to create opportunities in theater arts for youth between 14 and 18 years of age from under-served communities of Los Angeles and surrounding areas to experience and train in a university-like program.
