Lovin Oven Cakery

Since 1930, our family has been baking quality products for dessert lovers like you. Our story begins with my father-in-law, John Slove, being hired to work as an apprentice in a Chicago bakery. While there he learned everything there is to know about baking. Then, in 1946, he and my mother-in-law, Grace, opened their own bakery on Diversey Avenue in Chicago Slove Bakery. Their goal was to produce great quality desserts and provide excellent customer service: he did the baking; she the hand shaking. Through hard work and determination they grew the business and the bakerys reputation as one of the finest in the Chicagoland area. Eight years later Grace discovered she also had a bun in the oven my future husband, Ken. In recognition of his birth, they changed the name of the store to Slove and Son Bakery.
