At Make-A-Wish Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia, we are more than a great place to work our work is life-changing. Make-A-Wish Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia was founded in May 1983 in Pittsburgh, PA. Our first wish child, Bryan, a seven-year-old cancer patient, wanted to visit his favorite uncle in Texas for one of his famous piggy-back rides. Since then, and together with our volunteers, donors, staff and supporters, we have granted more than 20,000 life-changing wishes throughout PA and WV.
