Mare Nostrum - Une Mediterranee Autrement

Mare Nostrum a different kind of Mediterranean, is a cultural association which vocation is to highlight the Mediterranean heritage that we must defend in terms of its spirit, as well as its environment. Its ambition is to preserve the great feelings of social solidarity, human fraternity, the fight against inequalities. The Mediterranean is similar to the human soul: beneath the turmoil of its surface, in its depths, lies an unchanging world. We fear what is different. It is because we are unable to open our eyes that we close our arms. We must accept the fact that the cultural and spiritual heritage, the wisdom of our origins, are buried in the depths of this Mediterranean, which is our common share, our common world. The blood that flows in our veins pulses from our Mesopotamian, Egyptian, Jewish, Greek, Roman, Christian and Muslim roots. On the shores of our Mediterranean, Mare Nostrum, we are brothers and sisters. It is a sea, a universal light which guides and unites us
