Massachusetts Division of Ecological Restoration

The Division of Ecological Restoration (DER) is a Massachusetts government agency under the Department of Fish and Game that supports the restoration of the Commonwealths rivers, wetlands, and watersheds. DERs work includes the restoration of wetlands and retired cranberry bogs, dam removal, culvert replacement, and building capacity of restoration partners throughout the state. DERs projects restore healthy habitat while also helping communities increase climate resilience, prevent storm damage, address aging infrastructure and public safety concerns, and improve outdoor recreation. Our projects take place through partnerships with communities, state and federal agencies, regional organizations, and non-profit groups
