Matakana Estate has been at the forefront of local Matakana winemaking since this premium, boutique wine region was first developed more than 30 years ago. Matakana Estates philosophy has always been to capture the essence of New Zealands finest grape varieties from the regions where they grow best. Our Matakana Estate Winery produces award-winning Chardonnay, Syrah and Pinot Gris under the care of winemaker Richard Robson. The Matakana Coastal region is best known for its white-sand beaches and also perhaps the bustling Matakana Village Farmers Market. It is a slice of heaven right on Aucklands doorstep. There is magic in the land and we are proud to be one of the wineries in the region to showcase the quality of wine produced in the area. When our new owners took over in 2012, they felt a sense of connection to the region and we want to emulate that spirit in everything we do.
